SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 221
BY SENATOR LUNEAU 
CONDOLENCES.  Expresses sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the death of Paulette
Arlene Williams.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of Paulette Arlene Williams.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regrets and profound sorrow that the citizens of
5 Louisiana learned that Paulette A. Williams, at the age of sixty-three, passed away; and
6 WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams was born on November 6, 1956, in New Orleans,
7 Louisiana, to the union of the late Reverend Howard L. Williams and the late Dolores S.
8 Williams; and
9 WHEREAS, she was educated in Rapides Parish attending Silver City (W.O. Hall),
10 Jones Street Junior High School, and Peabody High School; and
11 WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams continued her education by attending Grambling
12 State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and several
13 certifications in special education, also receiving her master's degree plus thirty hours from
14 Northwestern State University of Natchitoches, Louisiana; and
15 WHEREAS, she was employed by the Allen Parish School System as a special
16 education teacher and was later promoted to special education supervisor for the parish,
17 serving for thirty-four years before retiring, and returing, after retiring in a consulting
18 capacity until her passing; and

1 WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized
2 by her father at the True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where she continued her service
3 until the time of her departure having served in the Youth Junior Choirs and Sunshine Band,
4 attended Sunday School, served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher, and a faithful member
5 of the Usher Board; and 
6 WHEREAS, on May 4, 1985, she was united in holy matrimony with Scott E. Perry
7 and raised two daughters; and 
8 WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams was an outgoing and loving person, always willing
9 to help anyone in need and very active in several organizations including the National
10 Education Association, local president of National Auxiliary of University Women, Peabody
11 Alumni, Grambling Alumni, and president of the Deerfield Association; and
12 WHEREAS, she is survived by her devoted husband, Scott E. Perry, two daughters:
13 Tamesha Abram (Larry) of Dallas, Texas, and Kia Clifton (Will) of Alexandria, Louisiana,
14 four grandchildren: Brayden and Bryce Abram of Dallas, Texas, and Kianna and Kiasia
15 Clifton of Alexandria, Louisiana, and one sister: Lynette W. Muse of Alexandria, Louisiana;
16 and
17 WHEREAS, although the death of Paulette A. Williams has left a tremendous void
18 in her family, church, and community, her memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts
19 of all who knew and loved her.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
21 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Paulette
22 Arlene Williams upon her passing.
23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to her
24 husband, Scott E. Perry.
