SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 221
BY SENATOR LUNEAU 
A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Paulette Arlene Williams.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regrets and profound sorrow that the citizens of
Louisiana learned that Paulette A. Williams, at the age of sixty-three, passed away; and
WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams was born on November 6, 1956, in New Orleans,
Louisiana, to the union of the late Reverend Howard L. Williams and the late Dolores S.
Williams; and
WHEREAS, she was educated in Rapides Parish attending Silver City (W.O. Hall),
Jones Street Junior High School, and Peabody High School; and
WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams continued her education by attending Grambling
State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and several
certifications in special education, also receiving her master's degree plus thirty hours from
Northwestern State University of Natchitoches, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, she was employed by the Allen Parish School System as a special
education teacher and was later promoted to special education supervisor for the parish,
serving for thirty-four years before retiring, and returing, after retiring in a consulting
capacity until her passing; and
WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized
by her father at the True Vine Missionary Baptist Church where she continued her service
until the time of her departure having served in the Youth Junior Choirs and Sunshine Band,
attended Sunday School, served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher, and a faithful member
of the Usher Board; and 
WHEREAS, on May 4, 1985, she was united in holy matrimony with Scott E. Perry
and raised two daughters; and

WHEREAS, Paulette A. Williams was an outgoing and loving person, always willing
to help anyone in need and very active in several organizations including the National
Education Association, local president of National Auxiliary of University Women, Peabody
Alumni, Grambling Alumni, and president of the Deerfield Association; and
WHEREAS, she is survived by her devoted husband, Scott E. Perry, two daughters:
Tamesha Abram (Larry) of Dallas, Texas, and Kia Clifton (Will) of Alexandria, Louisiana,
four grandchildren: Brayden and Bryce Abram of Dallas, Texas, and Kianna and Kiasia
Clifton of Alexandria, Louisiana, and one sister: Lynette W. Muse of Alexandria, Louisiana;
and
WHEREAS, although the death of Paulette A. Williams has left a tremendous void
in her family, church, and community, her memory shall live forever in the minds and hearts
of all who knew and loved her.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Paulette
Arlene Williams upon her passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to her
husband, Scott E. Perry.
