SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Bailey Tinsley for being one of the top fifteen
advertising students in the nation.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Bailey Tinsley for being one of the top fifteen advertising students in the
3 nation.
4 WHEREAS, LSU Manship School of Mass Communication student Bailey Tinsley
5 is one of the top fifteen advertising students in the nation, as selected by the American
6 Advertising Federation; and
7 WHEREAS, Tinsley's selection as one of the top national advertising students will
8 allow him to complete a prestigious internship at Slingshot, as a top advertising company,
9 as part of the Vance and Betty Lee Stickell Internship Program; and
10 WHEREAS, The Vance and Betty Lee Stickell Internship Program was established
11 in 1989, and has recognized two hundred ninety-eight outstanding students with a paid ten
12 week summer internship in media organizations, advertising agencies and brands; and
13 WHEREAS, the Manship School is recognized by accreditors as one of the strongest
14 programs in the country; and
15 WHEREAS, the Manship School of Mass Communication's advertising program is
16 the only program in the nation that focuses on digital advertising; and
17 WHEREAS, Tinsley's grade point average in the Manship School's distinguished
18 digital advertising program is higher than any other advertising student at the school; and

1 WHEREAS, Tinsley is the recipient of the Louisiana State University President's
2 Alumni Scholarship for his outstanding academic achievements; and
3 WHEREAS, Tinsley is a student in the esteemed Louisiana State University Roger
4 Hadfield Ogden Honors College; and
5 WHEREAS, Tinsley works personally with the Louisiana State University Screen
6 Arts Director, Dr. James V. Catano, to conduct documentary research, and also
7 conceptualizes new sequences and story-lines and direct interviews.
8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
9 does hereby recognize Bailey Tinsley for his outstanding academic performance and for his
10 accomplishments at Louisiana State University's Manship School of Mass Communication.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
12 Bailey Tinsley.
