SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32

A RESOLUTION
To express sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
upon the death of Garland W. Webb.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regrets and profound sorrow that the citizens of
Louisiana learned that Garland W. Webb, at the age of seventy-eight, entered peacefully into
eternal rest on April 2, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Garland W. Webb, a native of Calhoun, LA and a lifelong resident of
Central served over forty years with the American Federation of State, County, and
Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Louisiana Council No. 17 as a staff representative or the
President; and
WHEREAS, in 2010 Garland W. Webb was inducted into the Louisiana AFL-CIO
Hall of Fame while serving as a member of the Board of Review of the Louisiana Work
Force Commission; and
WHEREAS, Garland W. Webb is survived by a son, Carter Webb; daughter, Stacey
Webb McKinnie (Randy); two stepdaughters, Tammy S. Meador (Pam) and Terri Parnell-
Allison (Greg); a stepson, Randy Meador (Eleanor); nine grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren who will greatly miss their "Gee", yet "live on" as he told them to do when
the time comes for him to leave them. 
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of
Garland W. Webb upon his passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Garland W. Webb.
