SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
BY SENATOR THOMPSON 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends the Delhi Charter School junior high robotics team on
winning top awards at the Louisiana State VEX IQ Championship and qualifying to compete
at the 2019 VEX World Championship.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the members of the Delhi Charter School junior high robotics teams on
3 winning top awards at the Louisiana State VEX IQ Championship and qualifying to
4 compete at the 2019 VEX World Championship.
5 WHEREAS, Team 88892 A "Hub 41", Team 88892 B "Cyberbats", and
6 Team 88892 G "Beauties and the Beast" have earned fifteen awards over the course of the
7 2018-2019 season; and
8 WHEREAS, Team 88892 A "Hub 41" members are Nate Kirkland, Ashton Harrell,
9 Talmadge Parker, Brett Carter, and Kaden Sauseda; and
10 WHEREAS, Team 88892 A "Hub 41" won two Excellence Awards and a Judge
11 Award during the regular season and the Middle School Excellence Award and Team Work
12 Finalists during the state competition; and 
13 WHEREAS, the Middle School Excellence Award is the highest honor of the
14 Louisiana State VEX IQ Championship; and
15 WHEREAS, Team 88892 B "Cyberbats" members are Jacob Hosea, Payton Greer,
16 Ty Jones, Bennett Johnston, Hunter Enterkin, and Drake Morgan; and
17 WHEREAS, Team 88892 B "Cyberbats" won two Team Work Champions Awards
18 during the regular season and the Team Work Champion Award, the Robot Skills Champion

1 Award, and the Think Award during the state competition; and
2 WHEREAS, Team 88892 G "Beauties and the Beast" members are Jenny Wright,
3 Abbie Houston, Shelby Jeffers, Harley Jinks and Lisa Wright; and
4 WHEREAS, Team 88892 G "Beauties and the Beast" won three Design Awards and
5 a Create Award during the regular season and the Design Award during the state
6 competition; and
7 WHEREAS, the robotics teams learn vital science, engineering, and real-life skills
8 through the challenging task of building a functioning and effective robot that requires the
9 students to communicate, cooperate, and function as a team; and
10 WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the three junior high teams at Delhi
11 Charter School could not be achieved without the guidance and skills of Misty Kirkland, the
12 team's sponsor, and all of the other individuals who contribute to the success of the school's
13 robotics program.
14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
15 does hereby commend the members of the three Delhi Charter School junior high robotics
16 teams on winning top awards at the Louisiana State VEX IQ Championship and qualifying
17 to compete at the 2019 VEX World Championship; does hereby extend best wishes to the
18 team members and everyone involved with this fine program as they celebrate their
19 memorable and historic accomplishments; and does hereby congratulate them on
20 representing the state of Louisiana in the world championship competition. 
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Misty
22 Kirkland, the junior high team sponsor at Delhi Charter School and the school's headmaster,
23 Brett Raley.
