SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 90

COMMENDATIONS. Commends R & V Works and its owners, Robert and Vicki Myers,
for their many years in business as a Louisiana manufacturer.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend R & V Works and its owners, Robert and Vicki Myers, for their many years
3 in business as a Louisiana manufacturer.
4 WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens and the Senate of the Legislature
5 of Louisiana have learned of the success of R & V Works in Minden, Louisiana; and
6 WHEREAS, Robert Myers worked as an engineering supervisor at Clement
7 Industries when he first started tinkering with ideas for a fish cooker; and
8 WHEREAS, Robert and Vicki's church youth group at Apostolic Lighthouse Church
9 was having a fish fry fundraiser, and Robert was toying with a fish cooker he had been
10 designing and working on so he brought it out to use at the fundraiser, and people were
11 curious and started asking questions about it and inquiring where they could purchase one
12 like it; and
13 WHEREAS, with just three hundred dollars to their name, Robert told his wife Vicki
14 that he might be on to something that would produce some more income and with some
15 convincing from Robert they agreed to invest in what is now R & V Works manufacturing
16 Cajun fryers, smokin' Cajun grills, Cajun express smokers, Cajun boilers, Cajun griddles,
17 and fish cookers; and
18 WHEREAS, while R & V Works is a relatively young company, the Myers have

1 been in business since 1999; a business born from a lifelong dream of Robert and Vicki
2 Myers to create a company that not only offers an exceptional product but provides their
3 customers with an ingredient that is all too often missing today, extraordinary customer
4 service, and Robert and Vicki are accomplishing this by always putting their customers first;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, they understand their customers are the reason that they are in business,
7 and believe if they build a relationship with each customer that is caring, honest, and sincere,
8 then those customers will be happy and will tell their friends and family and this will in turn
9 make for a successful business; and
10 WHEREAS, at R & V Works the ideas were born in the rolling hills of northern
11 Louisiana, in a small community where everybody is a neighbor and friendships are lifelong;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, this is how they have built a thriving business on a philosophy of
14 building lifelong relationships with their customers, and also by treating them as neighbors,
15 friends, and family; and
16 WHEREAS, everyone who works at R & V Works believes in their vision of "The
17 customer's needs come first and meeting and exceeding the customer's expectations is the
18 #1 priority"; and only in understanding and meeting their customers needs, the company can
19 reach full potential, so all of their employees are highly motivated and consistently go above
20 and beyond to fulfill this mission; and
21 WHEREAS, their goal is to provide the most attractive, efficient, and well-built
22 product available on the market for the most competitive price anywhere, because R & V
23 Works is all about providing exceptional value to their customers; and
24 WHEREAS, they believe that providing versatile, high performance, low
25 maintenance gas fryers with unsurpassed quality will give their customers the greatest all
26 around value for their investment; and
27 WHEREAS, what they are doing is working because they have increased production
28 every year that they have been in business; and
29 WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities,
30 and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon strong, driven

1 caring people like Robert and Vicki Myers who pioneer change and make it happen.
2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 does hereby commend R & V Works and its owners, Robert and Vicki Myers, for their many
4 years in business as a Louisiana manufacturer.
5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
6 Robert and Vicki Myers.
