CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Louis Walker Stacks
1 A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death, on June 11,
3 2020, of Louis Walker Stacks.
4 WHEREAS, Louis was born on February 26, 1950, in McComb, Mississippi, to B.L.
5and Sarah Walker Stacks; and
6 WHEREAS, Louis was a devoted public servant who spent forty years working for
7the division of probation and parole in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections; he
8began his career as an agent and retired in 2020 as a regional director for the division; and
9 WHEREAS, Louis was deeply committed to his family and enjoyed cooking and
10family gatherings; and
11 WHEREAS, Louis is survived by his sister, Sarah Harmon, and her husband Jimmy;
12brother-in-law, Douglas Carpenter; nieces, Trudy Hays, and her husband Clayton, and Nancy
13Blanchard; nephew, Seth Harmon, and his wife Jessica; five great-nieces; and two great-
14nephews; and
15 WHEREAS, Louis will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
17Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences upon the death of Louis
18Walker Stacks; does hereby offer genuine gratitude for Louis's four decades of service to the
19state of Louisiana; and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that his family find
20comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
