HLS 201ES-349 ORIGINAL 2020 First Extraordinary Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 45 BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Kelly Stacks Carpenter 1 A RESOLUTION 2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death, on June 11, 3 2020, of Kelly Stacks Carpenter. 4 WHEREAS, Kelly was born on April 28, 1963, in Homer, Louisiana, to B.L. and 5Sarah Walker Stacks; and 6 WHEREAS, Kelly devoted thirty-three years of service to the David Wade 7Correctional Center and retired in 2017; since her retirement, she committed herself to 8taking care of her family, planning holiday events, and spoiling her grandchildren; and 9 WHEREAS, Kelly is survived by her loving husband of eighteen years, Douglas 10Carpenter; her daughter, Nancy Blanchard; her sister, Sarah Harmon, and her husband 11Jimmy; her grandchildren, Raegan Blanchard and Beaux Blanchard; and a host of nieces and 12nephews; and 13 WHEREAS, Kelly was a truly loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and 14friend; she will be deeply missed. 15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences upon the death of Kelly 17Stacks Carpenter; does hereby offer appreciation for her many years of service to the David 18Wade Correctional Center; and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that her family 19find comfort during this difficult time. 20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 21family of Kelly Stacks Carpenter.
