HLS 201ES-438 ORIGINAL 2020 First Extraordinary Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 51 BY REPRESENTATIVE COX CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Donald Turner 1 A RESOLUTION 2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Donald 3 Turner. 4 WHEREAS, Donald Turner was born on November 11, 1973, to Glen and Sue 5Turner; his father is a pastor in his hometown of Coushatta, Louisiana; and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Turner was a member of the Coushatta High School graduating 7class of 1991; and 8 WHEREAS, Donald married Yashica K. Thomas on January 23, 1999; together, they 9had two children, Malcolm Isaiah Turner and Keava ReShay Alexandra Turner; and 10 WHEREAS, Donald was a member of United States Navy Special Operations-Navy 11Seals and was awarded a National Defense Service medal for his service to his country; and 12 WHEREAS, after completing his service in the military, Donald worked for Dean 13Foods, from 1999 to 2013, and Idaho Timber, from 2013 to 2020; and 14 WHEREAS, Donald was a member of Elizabeth Full Gospel Baptist Church, where 15he sang in the choir and served as a church security officer; he was also an avid gun 16collector; and 17 WHEREAS, Donald Turner will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved 18him. 19 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 20Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Donald Page 1 of 2 HLS 201ES-438 ORIGINAL HR NO. 51 1Turner; does hereby offer appreciation to Mr. Turner for his service to our country; and does 2hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that his family find comfort during this somber time. 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 4family of Mr. Donald Turner.
