HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 51

A RESOLUTION
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Donald
Turner.
WHEREAS, Donald Turner was born on November 11, 1973, to Glen and Sue
Turner; his father is a pastor in his hometown of Coushatta, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Turner was a member of the Coushatta High School graduating
class of 1991; and
WHEREAS, Donald married Yashica K. Thomas on January 23, 1999; together, they
had two children, Malcolm Isaiah Turner and Keava ReShay Alexandra Turner; and
WHEREAS, Donald was a member of United States Navy Special Operations-Navy
Seals and was awarded a National Defense Service medal for his service to his country; and
WHEREAS, after completing his service in the military, Donald worked for Dean
Foods, from 1999 to 2013, and Idaho Timber, from 2013 to 2020; and
WHEREAS, Donald was a member of Elizabeth Full Gospel Baptist Church, where
he sang in the choir and served as a church security officer; he was also an avid gun
collector; and
WHEREAS, Donald Turner will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved
him.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Donald
Turner; does hereby offer appreciation to Mr. Turner for his service to our country; and does
hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that his family find comfort during this somber time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of Mr. Donald Turner.
