COMMENDATIONS: Commends Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr. upon their
induction into Northwestern State University's N-Club Hall of Fame, Class of 2020
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr. upon their induction into Northwestern
3 State University's N-Club Hall of Fame, Class of 2020.
4 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr.
5upon their induction into Northwestern State Univeristy's N-Club Hall of Fame and to
6recognize their athletic achievements and contributions to the university and its athletic
7program; and
8 WHEREAS, Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr. hold the distinction of being the
9first father and son pair in Northwestern State University (NSU) baseball history; and
10 WHEREAS, Terry Alario, Sr. was a pitcher on the NSU baseball team from 1966
11until 1969, was named captain during his senior year, and was a member of NSU's 1967 Gulf
12South Conference championship team which made the school's first appearance in a National
13Collegiate Athletic Association regional tournament; prior to attending NSU, he was a
14four-sport letterman at West Jefferson High School; and
15 WHEREAS, Terry Alario, Jr. lettered as a catcher at NSU in 1993 and 1994, when
16NSU won the Southland Conference championships in back-to-back seasons; prior to
17college, he attended John Curtis Christian High School, where he was an All-District catcher
18on the 1990 state prep championship team, and his American Legion team was a Southeast
19Louisiana title winner; and
20 WHEREAS, the Alarios, both of whom wore jersey number 22 as NSU Demons, are
21diehard supporters of NSU athletics, created the Alario 22 Scholarship for the NSU baseball

1program, and continue to lend financial support and actively promote Demon athletics
2throughout Louisiana; and
3 WHEREAS, in addition to being named to the Hall of Fame, the Alarios are
4receiving the N-Club's Distinguished Service Award; and
5 WHEREAS, Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr. merit a special measure of
6commendation for the pride and honor that they bring to their families, friends, and
7community, Northwestern State University, and the state of Louisiana.
8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
9Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Terry Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr. upon
10their induction into Northwestern State University's N-Club Hall of Fame, Class of 2020,
11and does hereby extend to them best wishes for continued success in their future endeavors.
12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Terry
13Alario, Sr. and Terry Alario, Jr.
