SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8
BY SENATOR JOHNS 
CONDOLENCES.  Expresses condolences upon the death of William Andrew "Andy"
Riche'.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
3 death of William Andrew "Andy" Riché.
4 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the Senate of the
5 Legislature of Louisiana learned of the passing of William Andrew "Andy" Riche' on
6 June 1, 2020; and
7 WHEREAS, he was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to John "Boo" Riche' and
8 Lynda Lantrip Riche', on January 27, 1988, and was reared in Sulphur; and
9 WHEREAS, he was a standout football and baseball player at Sulphur High School,
10 a District 3-5A All-District wide receiver in football in both his junior and senior years,
11 playing in the Bayou Classic All-Star Football Game in 2005; and
12 WHEREAS, although he excelled in football, he loved baseball and was selected as
13 first team all-district as well as All State Most Valuable Player in 5A; and
14 WHEREAS, in 2006, he received a baseball scholarship to McNeese State University
15 and played from 2006 to 2010, earning Honorable Mention in All Conference during his
16 senior year; and
17 WHEREAS, despite all his athletic accomplishments, Andy's greatest pastime was
18 fishing and many joy-filled hours were spent while he held a rod and reel in his hands; and

1 WHEREAS, Andy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church; and
2 WHEREAS, he is survived by one daughter who resides in Austin, Texas; his
3 parents, Boo and Lynda Riche'; brother, Kevin Lawrence Riche' (Heather Riche'); three
4 nieces, Kaylee Rose, Kenli Violet, and Kori Sage Riche'; and many loving aunts, uncles,
5 cousins, and friends.
6 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
7 does hereby express condolences upon the death of William Andrew "Andy" Riché.
8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to his
9 parents, Boo and Lynda Riche.
