2020 First Extraordinary Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8 BY SENATOR JOHNS A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of William Andrew "Andy" Riché. WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana learned of the passing of William Andrew "Andy" Riché on June 1, 2020; and WHEREAS, he was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to John "Boo" Riché and Lynda Lantrip Riché, on January 27, 1988, and was reared in Sulphur; and WHEREAS, he was a standout football and baseball player at Sulphur High School, a District 3-5A All-District wide receiver in football in both his junior and senior years, playing in the Bayou Classic All-Star Football Game in 2005; and WHEREAS, although he excelled in football, he loved baseball and was selected as first team all-district as well as All State Most Valuable Player in 5A; and WHEREAS, in 2006, he received a baseball scholarship to McNeese State University and played from 2006 to 2010, earning Honorable Mention in All Conference during his senior year; and WHEREAS, despite all his athletic accomplishments, Andy's greatest pastime was fishing and many joy-filled hours were spent while he held a rod and reel in his hands; and WHEREAS, Andy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, he is survived by one daughter who resides in Austin, Texas; his parents, Boo and Lynda Riché; brother, Kevin Lawrence Riché (Heather Riché); three nieces, Kaylee Rose, Kenli Violet, and Kori Sage Riché; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express condolences upon the death of William Andrew "Andy" Riché.
