TAX/TAX REBATES: Suspends the Procurement Processing Company Rebate Program

1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2To suspend until sixty days after final adjournment of the 2021 Regular Session of the
3 Legislature of Louisiana the Procurement Processing Company Rebate Program
4 pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 47:6351.
5 WHEREAS, R.S. 47:6351 creates the Procurement Processing Company Rebate
6Program and the state must obtain more information about this program before its
7continuation; and
8 WHEREAS, the rebate terms and amounts are not defined in statute and the
9legislature is uncertain how much is being rebated to certain companies; and
10 WHEREAS, it is the intent of the legislature to suspend all aspects of R.S. 47:6351,
11including the payment of any rebates after passage of this Resolution; and
12 WHEREAS, no rebates shall be paid after the passage of this Resolution; and
13 WHEREAS, the legislature should have more oversight over this program, and a
14process should be developed for the review of all existing and new contracts.
15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana hereby suspends
16the Procurement Processing Company Rebate Program as provided for in R.S. 47:6351.
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this suspension shall become effective upon
18adoption of this Resolution and shall extend through the sixtieth day after final adjournment
19of the 2021 Regular Session of the Legislature of Louisiana.
