HLS 202ES-179 ORIGINAL 2020 Second Extraordinary Session HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 27 BY REPRESENTATIVES CHARLES OWEN AND SCHAMERHORN AND SENATOR REESE COMMENDATIONS: Commends Vernon Parish District Attorney Asa Skinner on his retirement 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2To commend Vernon Parish District Attorney Asa Skinner on his retirement. 3 WHEREAS, after serving the Vernon Parish district attorney's office for over forty 4years, Asa Skinner has announced his retirement; and 5 WHEREAS, District Attorney Skinner has served as district attorney since he was 6elected to in position in 2009; he began serving as an assistant district attorney in 1979; and 7 WHEREAS, Skinner said that it was his efforts to stand up for the children of the 8parish that brought him the most pride during his four decades of service to Vernon Parish; 9he retires from his post with the utmost confidence that the new district attorney, Terry 10Lambright, a twenty-year veteran in the DA's office with a background in Children and 11Family Services, will continue to build upon his efforts to ensure the safety of all children 12in Vernon Parish; and 13 WHEREAS, Skinner is a graduate of Leesville High School, Northwestern State 14University, and the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University; he is married 15to Karen Milam Skinner, and together they have two children, Clint and Colleen; and 16 WHEREAS, Asa Skinner has truly used his position to uplift and protect the 17community, and his efforts to safeguard the children of Louisiana during his impressive 18career with the Vernon Parish district attorney's office is deserving of the highest 19recognition.
