HLS 202ES-642 ORIGINAL 2020 Second Extraordinary Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 47 BY REPRESENTATIVES GARY CARTER, BUTLER, DAVIS, DESHOTEL, DUPLESSIS, KERNER, AND WILLARD LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEES: Extends the termination date of the Committee on Minority, Female, and Veteran Enterprises 1 A RESOLUTION 2To extend the termination date for the Committee on Minority, Female, and Veteran-Owned 3 Enterprises to December 31, 2023. 4 WHEREAS, House Study Request No. 2 of the 2020 First Extraordinary Session of 5the Legislature created the Committee on Minority, Female, and Veteran-Owned Enterprises 6and tasked it with studying and developing a plan to promote the economic recovery and 7development of minority, female, and veteran-owned enterprises impacted by the COVID-19 8pandemic; and 9 WHEREAS, the committee met a number of times, solicited input from a wide range 10of governmental and business entities, and made a number of recommendations for action; 11and 12 WHEREAS, one of the recommendations was to extend the sunset of the committee 13beyond the current September 30, 2022, termination date so that it can continue to meet and 14study solutions for small, rural, minority, female, and veteran-owned enterprises. 15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 16Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend the termination date for the Committee on 17Minority, Female, and Veteran-Owned Enterprises to December 31, 2023.
