Locke and posthumously commends his service 1 A RESOLUTION 2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Joe A. Locke, 3 a longtime House Sergeant at Arms employee, and to posthumously commend his 4 service. 5 WHEREAS, Joe was a native and resident of Baton Rouge who is remembered as 6a very kind and giving person; and 7 WHEREAS, Joe worked as a relay utility worker for Gulf States Utilities, now 8known as Entergy, for thirty-nine years; after retiring, he became a sergeant at arms for the 9Louisiana House of Representatives; he served in this capacity for twenty-seven years; and 10 WHEREAS, Joe was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical 11Workers, and he also served in the United States Air Force during World War II; and 12 WHEREAS, Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty K. Locke; daughter, 13Lecia L. Mouille; son, Terry J. Locke; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host 14of other family and friends; and 15 WHEREAS, Joe was truly an admirable man who served the state legislature with 16the utmost honor and respect; he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 18Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Joe A. 19Locke; does hereby posthumously commend Joe for his many years of dedicated service to 20the Louisiana House of Representatives; does hereby express pride and appreciation for Joe's Page 1 of 2 HLS 202ES-156 ORIGINAL HR NO. 5 1service during World War II; and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that his 2family and friends might find comfort during this difficult loss. 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 4family of Joe A.
