(gov sig) (Item #32) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 27:309(A)(2), relative to fantasy sports; to provide for 3 limitations; and to provide for related matters. 4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 5 Section 1. R.S. 27:309(A)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง309. Allowing certain players to play fantasy sports contests; penalties; revocation 7 hearing 8 A. * * * 9 (2) No person licensed pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter, or any 10 agent or employee thereof, shall allow a person to participate in enter into a fantasy 11 sports contest while located in a parish in which, at the election held pursuant to R.S. 12 27:303, a majority of the qualified electors in the parish voting on the proposition to 13 authorize fantasy sports contests in the parish voted against the proposition. 14 * * * 15 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 16 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 17 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
