RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 130 (HB 114) 2020 Regular Session Bagley Existing law creates a board of election supervisors in each parish to supervise the preparation for and the conduct of elections. Existing law provides that a parish board of election supervisors is composed of the registrar of voters or his designee, the clerk of court or his designee, the chairman of the parish executive committee of each recognized political party or his designee, and one member appointed by the governor. If the parish does not have an executive committee of a recognized political party or there is a vacancy in the executive committee's office of chairman, the chairman of the state central committee of that political party may appoint a person to serve on the board. New law prohibits an employee of the clerk of court or the registrar of voters or an immediate family member of the clerk or his designee or of the registrar or his designee from serving on the board as: (1)The parish executive committee chairman's designee. (2)The state central committee chairman's appointee. (3)The governor's appointee. Effective Aug. 1, 2020. (Adds R.S. 18:423(C)(3))
