Abstract: Removes the requirement that the social security number of each applicant be included
on the application for a marriage license.
Present law provides for certain required identifying information to be included in an application for
a marriage license. Such required information includes the names and addresses of the applicants,
dates of birth, names of the parents, and social security numbers.
Proposed law retains present law but removes the requirement that the social security number of each
applicant be included on the application.
(Amends R.S. 9:223(B); Repeals R.S. 9:224(A)(6))
