HOUSE BILL NO. 130

SMALL BUSINESS:  Provides relative to termination of the Louisiana Small Business and
Entrepreneurship Council
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 51:2377, relative to the Louisiana Small Business and
3 Entrepreneurship Council; to provide for the effective termination date for the
4 council; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 51:2377 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 
7 §2377.  Termination of Chapter
8	The provisions of this Chapter shall terminate on June 30, 2022 June 30,
9 2023, and thereafter shall be null, void, and without effect.
10 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature of this Act by the
11governor or, if not signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become
12law without signature by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the
13Constitution of Louisiana. If this Act is vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved
14by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on the day following such approval.

Abstract:  Provides for the termination date of the Louisiana Small Business and
Entrepreneurship Council.
Present law provides that the Louisiana Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council
(LSBEC) shall identify issues pertinent to the operations of small businesses and advise the
Department of Economic Development and the governor on issues affecting the
competitiveness of small businesses in the state, ensure coordination of small business
support between federal, state, and local agencies, and advise the department and the
governor on polices and programs that make small businesses more competitive.  
Further, present law provides that the LSBEC shall terminate on June 30, 2022.
Proposed law changes the termination date to June 30, 2023. 
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
