RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 66 (HB 181) 2020 Regular Session Riser Existing law allows a person or entity to enter into a cooperative endeavor agreement to withdraw running surface water. Specifies that the initial term cannot exceed two years. Prior law specified that no new cooperative endeavor agreement could be entered into for which an application was received by the Dept. of Natural Resources after Dec. 31, 2020. New law repeals prior law. Prior law authorized renewal of agreements in two-year increments but specified that such agreements could terminate no later than Dec. 31, 2028. New law removes the Dec. 31, 2028, termination date applicable to the two-year renewals of existing agreements. Effective Aug. 1, 2020. (Amends R.S. 30:961(E))
