HUNTING/LICENSES: Authorizes the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and
Fisheries to certify "organizations involved in charitable hunting and fishing
activities" and waives license fees for such organizations
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 56:641.2, relative to hunting and fishing licenses; to authorize the secretary
3 of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to certify certain organizations involved
4 in hunting or fishing activities; to exempt from the hunting and fishing license
5 requirements individuals engaged in hunting or fishing activities sponsored by those
6 organizations; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 56:641.2 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9 ยง641.2. Certification of certain not-for-profit organizations involved in charitable
10 hunting and fishing activities; exemption from license requirements
11 The secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is hereby
12 authorized to certify a not-for-profit organization as an "organization involved in
13 charitable hunting and fishing activities". Individuals engaged in hunting or fishing
14 activities conducted by a not-for-profit organization certified by the secretary as an
15 "organization involved in charitable hunting and fishing activities" shall be exempt
16 from the requirement for a hunting or fishing license while engaged in activities
17 sponsored by that organization.

license fees for such organizations.
Proposed law authorizes the secretary of the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries to certify a not-
for-profit organization as an "organization involved in charitable hunting and fishing
activities". Exempts from license requirements individuals engaged in hunting or fishing
activities conducted by an organization certified by the secretary while engaged in activities
sponsored by that organization.
