Abstract: Revises the qualifications of the member of the pharmacy benefit manager monitoring
advisory council representing the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association.
Present law creates the pharmacy benefit manager monitoring advisory council to provide monitoring
of pharmacy benefit managers in La. to advise the legislature, commissioner of insurance, and Board
of Pharmacy on the most effective and efficient manner of regulation of pharmacy benefit managers
to ensure the protection of the public.
Proposed law retains present law.
Present law provides for 20 members of the advisory council including the president of a pharmacy
benefit manager licensed by the Board of Pharmacy, selected by the La. affiliate of the
Pharmaceutical Care Management Association from a list of interested and qualified individuals.
Proposed law changes the qualification of the member to the president of the Pharmaceutical Care
Management Association.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
