Act 256 (HB 311) 2020 Regular Session Huval
Existing law authorizes a dental service contractor to deny certain claims submitted by
dentists for reimbursement of services and requires such contractor to establish and maintain
appeal procedures.
New law prohibits a dental service contractor from denying dental benefits and services for
treatment of conditions existing prior to the date dental coverage begins, but allows the
dental service contractor to impose up to a 12-month waiting period for covered services.
Effective Aug. 1, 2020.
