HLS 20RS-346 ORIGINAL 2020 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 362 BY REPRESENTATIVE DAVIS HOSPITALS: Defines "freestanding children's hospital" for purposes of the Hospital Licensing Law 1 AN ACT 2To enact R.S. 40:2102(5) and 2109.1, relative to freestanding children's hospitals; to provide 3 for a definition; to provide for newborn health services; and to provide for related 4 matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 40:2102(5) and 2109.1 are hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 §2102. Definitions 8 As used in this Part: 9 * * * 10 (5) "Freestanding children's hospital" means a fully functional hospital with 11 all of the support services and ancillary functions needed to furnish services 12 primarily to children below the age of eighteen. 13 * * * 14 §2109.1. Neonatal Intensive Care Units 15 A.
