HB 406 Engrossed 2020 Regular Session Huval
Abstract: Allows the secretary to make personnel decisions for offices of the Dept. of Culture,
Recreation and Tourism if there is a vacancy in the assistant secretary position.
Present law provides that the assistant secretary of an office within the Dept. of Culture, Recreation
and Tourism has the authority to employ, appoint, remove, assign, and promote personnel in his
office.
Proposed law gives the secretary of the department authority to take personnel actions, such as
employing, appointing, and removing such personnel, within an office if there is a vacancy in the
assistant secretary position of the office.
