R.S. 25:822(A)(11) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 11 §822. Louisiana Folklife Commission; creation; membership; confirmation and 12 reconfirmation; terms; officers; vacancies; compensations; meetings; 13 quorum; domicile 14 A. Creation; membership. The Louisiana Folklife Commission is hereby 15 created within the office of cultural development of the Department of Culture, 16 Recreation and Tourism. The commission shall be composed of twenty-one voting 17 members, eighteen of whom shall be appointed by the governor and three of whom 18 shall be ex officio members. Each appointment by the governor shall be submitted 19 to the Senate for confirmation. The commission shall be composed of twenty-one twenty members. 10 * * * 11 (2) The following organizations shall each submit a list of four names to the 12 lieutenant governor, from which the lieutenant governor shall appoint one individual 13 from each organization for membership on the commission: 14 * * * 15 (g) The Louisiana Travel Promotion Association. 16 * * * 17 (3) The following organizations shall each submit a list of eight names to the 18 lieutenant governor, from which the lieutenant governor shall appoint two 19 individuals from each organization for membership on the commission: 20 * * * 21 (b) Louisiana Hotel-Motel Hotel and Lodging Association. 22 * * * 23 §1257. Business League from the commission. Further provides for technical changes to the titles of certain nominating organizations. Present law provides relative to the duties and responsibilities of the commission. Provides that the commission shall submit to the governor a list of nominees to fill a vacancy for the position of assistant secretary of the office of tourism. Proposed law changes the person to whom the commission shall submit a list of qualified nominees from the governor to the lieutenant governor. Otherwise retains present law.
