Abstract: Allows data sharing authorization by the joint committee on governmental affairs.
Proposed law allows a state agency to request a public meeting before the joint committee on
governmental affairs regarding the agency's request for data from another state agency.
Proposed law allows the joint committee on governmental affairs to authorize the data sharing
request.
Proposed law provides that proposed law does not supersede other provisions of law or contractual
obligations requiring confidentiality of information.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on House and Governmental
Affairs to the original bill:
1. Change provision regarding state agency cooperation with the House and Senate

make it permissive rather than mandatory.
2. Add a provision that proposed law does not supersede provisions of law or contractual
obligations requiring confidentiality of information.
