New law authorizes a state agency to request a public meeting before the joint committee on
governmental affairs regarding the agency's request for data from another state agency.
Authorizes the joint committee on governmental affairs to authorize the data sharing request.
New law provides that it does not supersede existing law that provides for confidentiality of
tax records.
Effective Aug. 1, 2020.
