HB 704 Original 2020 Regular Session Pierre
Abstract: Requires Class 1 licenses to be renewed on the effective date of issuance.
Present law requires every vehicle registration under present law, other than those licensed under
present law (R.S. 47:463(A), R.S. 47:511(B)), and those included by regulation of the secretary, in
the staggered registration system to expire on June 14th of each year. Present law requires
registrations be renewed annually between May 1st and June 14th of each year.
Proposed law modifies present law by requiring a Class 1 vehicle to renew annually based on the
effective date of issuance.
