HLS 20RS-1122 ORIGINAL 2020 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 728 BY REPRESENTATIVE ROBERT OWEN AND SENATOR HEW ITT WILDLIFE/MGT AREAS: Relative to the Wild Louisiana Guide License 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 56:1833, relative to the Wild Louisiana Guide License; to 3 increase the maximum allowable fee for the Wild Louisiana Guide License; to repeal 4 the client fee; and to provide for related matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 56:1833 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง1833. Wild Louisiana Guide License 8 A. The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission is authorized to adopt 9 rules and regulations to create and govern a licensing program for persons who 10 conduct outings on lands for purposes other than hunting or fishing for which a Wild 11 Louisiana Stamp may be required pursuant to R.S. 56:109(D). 12 B. The commission may establish a Wild Louisiana Guide License and 13 impose a fee for such license that may not exceed one two thousand five hundred 14 dollars annually. 15 C. The commission may require a licensed Wild Louisiana guide to pay to 16 the department a client fee not to exceed two dollars per trip for each person 17 accompanying the guide on such lands. The guide shall not be required to pay the 18 client fee for those persons who possess a valid Louisiana hunting or fishing license 19 or Wild Louisiana Stamp. Persons accompanying a licensed Wild Louisiana guide for whom the 4 guide is required to pay a client fee pursuant to Subsection C of this Section shall not 5 be required to possess a Wild Louisiana Stamp or possess a hunting or fishing 6 license. 7 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 8signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 9by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 10vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 11effective on the day following such approval. Establishes a maximum annual fee of $100 for the license. Further requires that the license guide pay a $2.00 client fee for each person accompanying the guide on department lands. Proposed law increases the maximum allowable fee for the Wild Louisiana Guide License to $2,500 and removes the requirement for the client fee.
