HLS 20RS-156 ENGROSSED 2020 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 735 BY REPRESENTATIVES FONTENOT, FIRMENT, MIKE JOHNSON, AND WHEAT INSURANCE/FIRE-CASUALTY: Provides relative to the fire insurance rating system for volunteer firefighters 1 AN ACT 2To enact R.S. 22:1460.1, relative to volunteer firefighter credit requirements; to provide for 3 fire insurance rates; to require that the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana 4 credit certified volunteer firefighters the same as on-duty firefighters when making 5 such rates; and to provide for related matters. 6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 22:1460.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง1460.1. Volunteer firefighter credit requirements for determination of fire 9 insurance rates 10 When promulgating rates in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 22:1460, 11 the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana shall give volunteer firefighters 12 certified in accordance with National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001, 13 who respond to any fire call with assigned protective clothing ensembles that meet 14 the general NFPA 1001 criteria, the same credit given to on-duty firefighters at fire 15 stations in the ISO Fire Suppression Rating Schedule.
