Present law provides that the cost of group health insurance premiums shall be paid from the district attorney's general fund for district attorneys who have retired with 25 years of creditable service in the District Attorneys' Retirement System, regardless of age, in the 5th, 7th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 29th, 30th, and 40th Judicial Districts. Proposed law adds the 31st Judicial District to those for which group health insurance premiums are to be paid for district attorneys who have retired, and changes the required years of service from 25 years to 24 years for all district attorneys included in present law and proposed law.
