RÉSUMÉ DIGEST ACT 168 (HB 80) 2020 Regular Session Romero Prior law provided that the cost of group health insurance premiums shall be paid from the district attorney's general fund for district attorneys who have retired with 25 years of creditable service in the District Attorneys' Retirement System, regardless of age, in the 5th, 7th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 29th, 30th, and 40th Judicial Districts. New law retains prior law except with regard to how the payment of the costs of group health insurance premiums are paid. New law provides that the costs of group health insurance premiums may be paid from the district attorney's general fund. New law adds the 31st, 33rd, and 36th Judicial Districts to those for which group health insurance premiums may be paid for district attorneys who have retired, and changes the required years of service from 25 years to 24 years for all district attorneys included in prior law and new law. Effective Aug. 1, 2020. (Amends R.S. 16:516(A))
