ACT 127 (HB 95) 2020 Regular Session Green
Existing law provides for an additional fee not to exceed prior law limit of $125 on all
persons convicted in the 24th JDC of felony or misdemeanor offenses to be set by the judges
sitting en banc.
Existing law prohibits the assessment of additional fees on convictions for traffic violations
or ordinances adopted by the Jefferson Parish governing authority.
Existing law prohibits the total amount of the financial penalty for misdemeanor offenders,
including the fee imposed under existing law, from exceeding $1,000.
New law changes the fee authorized for collection from $125 to $175.
Effective Aug. 1, 2020.
