HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 10

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Louisiana Association of Health Plans and to recognize Wednesday,
March 11, 2020, as Louisiana Association of Health Plans Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Association of Health Plans, or LAHP, has been the trade
association for the health insurance industry in Louisiana since 1992; and
WHEREAS, comprised of just a small group of health plans initially, the LAHP has
grown steadily and is now one of the most effective and respected trade associations in
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the LAHP has more than one hundred member and partner
organizations which represent a diverse array of companies, including commercial and
medicare health plans, preferred provider organizations, third-party administrators,
supplemental benefit plans, managed behavioral health organizations, medicaid managed
care organizations, pharmaceutical companies, pharmacy benefit managers, law firms,
healthcare specialty providers, care management organizations, health benefit consultants,
and prescription drug plans; and
WHEREAS, the LAHP annual meeting and conference is one of the most widely
attended health industry events in the region; and
WHEREAS, the LAHP promotes health and wellness throughout the year and is
hosting its annual healthcare fair at the state capitol on March 11, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the LAHP extends sincere thanks to the following board-member
companies for their generous support of LAHP throughout the year: Aetna, Aetna Better
Health Plan MCO, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, eQHealth Solutions, Gilsbar, Health
Blue Plan MCO, Hidalgo Health Associates, Humana, Multiplan, Peoples Health, United

Healthcare Community Plan MCO, United Healthcare Employers and Individual Plans,
Vantage Health Plan, and WellCare Health Plans; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to commend the LAHP for its good work in
protecting and promoting health in our state.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Louisiana Association of Health Plans and does hereby recognize Wednesday,
March 11, 2020, as Louisiana Association of Health Plans Day at the state capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
chief executive officer and members of the board of directors of the Louisiana Association
of Health Plans.
