HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 19
BY REPRESENTATIVE HORTON AND SENATOR PEACOCK
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To recognize Thursday, March 26, 2020, as Y Day in Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Louisiana's Ys are committed to nurturing the potential of kids,
promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the members of Louisiana's Ys are united by the core values of caring,
honesty, respect, and responsibility, and such values guide their behavior, their interactions
with each other, and their decisionmaking; and
WHEREAS, more than 100,000 children and adults, through Louisiana's Ys, have
access to the essentials necessary to learn, grow, and thrive; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's Ys support the development of integrated and community-
based services for children and families; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's Ys stand ready to support state government efforts to
provide developmental programs for youth, to strengthen families, and to create partnerships
that support children and families and meet community needs; and
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2020, representatives of Louisiana's Ys will meet with
representatives and senators at the state capitol to discuss issues facing the state's youth and
families.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
recognize Thursday, March 26, 2020, as Y Day in Louisiana and does hereby commend the
members of Louisiana's Ys for their tireless efforts to improve the lives of children and
families in the great state of Louisiana.
