HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 82
BY REPRESENTATIVE ROMERO AND SENATOR AB RAHAM
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the Hathaway High School girls' basketball team on an outstanding 2020
season.
WHEREAS, the second-seeded Lady Hornets basketball team gave top-ranked
perennial powerhouse Fairview High School everything they could handle during the 2020
Class B state championship; and
WHEREAS, although the Hathaway Lady Hornets fell short of their state
championship goals, the team maintained a positive and determined attitude throughout the
game and successfully capped off their tremendous thirty-win season on a positive note; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Courtney Young led the Lady Hornets to the 2020 Class
B state championship with her knowledge of the fundamentals of basketball; Coach Young
is also deserving of recognition for the praise she offered her team after their hard fought
effort against Fairview; and
WHEREAS, on the court, the Lady Hornets were led by Kenedei Beard, Lamiyah
Sanchez, Chloe Guidry, Haleigh Fruge, and Madison Suire; and
WHEREAS, the Hathaway High Lady Hornets basketball team is most deserving of
recognition for their perseverance and positive attitude during their 2020 state runner-up
basketball season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the Hathaway High School Lady Hornets basketball team on an incredible 2020
season and does hereby express tremendous pride in the team for both their performance and
their attitude during the 2020 Class B state championship game.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Head
Coach Courtney Young.
