COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Pleasant Hill boys' basketball team on winning the
2020 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class C state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Pleasant Hill boys' basketball team on winning the 2020 Louisiana High
3 School Athletic Association Class C state championship.
4 WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hill boys' basketball team captured the school's first state
5title since 2011 by defeating Hicks High School in the 2020 Class C state championship
6game; and
7 WHEREAS, the team was led by Coach Stephen Burch, who won his first state title
8as a head coach, and star guard Montonious Burrough, who was named to the Class C All-
9State team; and
10 WHEREAS, the hard work and determination displayed by the Pleasant Hill boys'
11basketball team is impressive and their championship achievement is certainly deserving of
12recognition.
13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
14Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Pleasant Hill boy's basketball team on
15winning the 2020 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class C state championship
16and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that Coach Burch and the young men of
17the Pleasant Hill team have continued success in their future endeavors.
18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
19Coach Stephen Burch.
