HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 40

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Pleasant Hill boys' basketball team on winning the 2020 Louisiana High
School Athletic Association Class C state championship.
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hill boys' basketball team captured the school's first state
title since 2011 by defeating Hicks High School in the 2020 Class C state championship
game; and
WHEREAS, the team was led by Coach Stephen Burch, who won his first state title
as a head coach, and star guard Montonious Burrough, who was named to the Class C All-
State team; and
WHEREAS, the hard work and determination displayed by the Pleasant Hill boys'
basketball team is impressive and their championship achievement is certainly deserving of
recognition.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Pleasant Hill boy's basketball team on
winning the 2020 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class C state championship
and does hereby extend sincere hopes and wishes that Coach Burch and the young men of
the Pleasant Hill team have continued success in their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach Stephen Burch.
