COMMENDATIONS: Commends the 2020 Louisiana High School Athletic Association
top-ranked powerlifting teams
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the 2020 Louisiana High School Athletic Association powerlifting teams that
3 were at the top of their divisions at the end of the season.
4 WHEREAS, the COVID-19 crisis led to the cancellation of the Louisiana High
5School Athletic Association powerlifting state championship; however, the teams from
6across the state that were the highest-ranked following the regional championships are
7worthy of commendation; and
8 WHEREAS, in division 5A, the top-ranked teams were the girls' team from Pineville
9and the boys' team from West Monroe; and
10 WHEREAS, in division 4A, the top-ranked teams were the girls' team from Tioga
11and the boys' team from Assumption; and
12 WHEREAS, in division 3A, the top-ranked teams were the girls' team from Lutcher
13and the boys' team from Abbeville; and
14 WHEREAS, in division 2A, the top-ranked teams were the girls' team from Port
15Allen and the boys' team from Winnfield; and
16 WHEREAS, in division 1A, the top-ranked teams were both the girls' and boys'
17teams from Calvary Baptist; and
18 WHEREAS, for their incredible efforts throughout the season and for their
19determination, these teams are most deserving of recognition.
20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
21Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the 2020 Louisiana High School Athletic

1Association powerlifting teams that were at the top of their divisions at the end of the season
2and does hereby extend sincere hopes that these young men and women find success in all
3of their future endeavors.
