COMMENDATIONS: Commends Ronald R. "Ronnie" Anderson, Louisiana Farm Bureau
president, on his retirement
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend Ronald R. "Ronnie" Anderson, Louisiana Farm Bureau president, on the
3 occasion of his retirement.
4 WHEREAS, Ronnie Anderson was elected to the board of the Louisiana Farm
5Bureau in 1981 and began his term as president in 1989; he is the longest serving president
6in Farm Bureau history; and
7 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Farm Bureau was founded in 1922 and is the state's
8largest general farm organization; and
9 WHEREAS, under Mr. Anderson's leadership, the bureau grew from nearly 67,000
10members in 1989 to more than 148,000 today; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson sits on many other boards, including the Louisiana State
12University Board of Supervisors and the American Farm Bureau Board of Directors; and
13 WHEREAS, in 1995 he was named "Man of the Year in Louisiana Agriculture" by
14Progressive Farmer Magazine and "Agricultural Alumnus of the Year" by the LSU College
15of Agriculture; he was inducted into the LSU Alumni Hall of Distinction in 2000; and
16 WHEREAS, Ronnie is married to the former Vivian Norsworthy; the couple has two
17children and six grandchildren, and they are faithful members of Ethel United Methodist
18Church; and
19 WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson raises beef cattle, horses, hay, and timber on his farm in
20East and West Feliciana parishes.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
2Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Ronald R. "Ronnie" Anderson upon the
3celebration of his retirement after a long and productive career with Louisiana Farm Bureau;
4does hereby express enduring gratitude for his innumerable contributions to the success of
5farmers throughout the state; and does hereby extend to him best wishes for continued
6happiness and success in the future.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
8Ronald R. "Ronnie" Anderson.
