(gov sig) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 17:418(A)(2), relative to salaries of teachers and other school 3 employees; to provide relative to the salary schedules established for such 4 employees; and to provide for related matters. 5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 17:418(A)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง418. Salaries; teachers and other school employees 8 A. * * * 9 (2) Such salary schedules shall be established and published not later than 10 January 1, 2013, and shall become effective for all employees not later than the 11 beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. No salary scheduled adopted pursuant 12 to this Section shall include salary limitations based upon years of experience. 13 * * * 14 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 15 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 16 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. DIGEST SB 127 Original 2020 Regular Session Barrow Present law provides that the governing authority of each local public elementary and secondary school shall establish salary schedules to determine the pay of teachers and all other school employees. Proposed law retains present law and additionally provides that salary schedules shall not include salary limitations based on years of experience. Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
