Present law provides that a parish governing authority in the parish in which each waterworks district
is located may fix the per diem to be paid to each of the members of the board of commissioners of
the respective waterworks districts in an amount not to exceed $60 for each meeting they attend, up
to and including 24 meetings in each year and for each special meeting not to exceed 12 special
meetings in each year.
Proposed law provides for the board of commissioners of Waterworks District No. 1 of Vermilion
Parish to permit an increase in per diem, not to exceed $150, for the commissioners of the board for
attending board meetings.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
