Present law provides that active duty or reserve members of the U.S. armed forces are required to
pay only ½ of the annual $25 fee provided for in present law for a five-year concealed handgun
permit, or if applying for a lifetime permit, are to prepay that fee for a total of 10 years at the time
the application is made.
Proposed law deletes present law and provides that active duty or reserve members of the U.S. armed
forces are exempt from all fees associated with a five-year or lifetime concealed handgun permit.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
