1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 48:231(A)(6), relative to the Department of Transportation and
3 Development; to provide relative to proposal of the annual construction program; to
4 provide for prioritization of projects; and to provide for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 48:231(A)(6) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง231. Final construction program for current fiscal year; public hearings; Joint
8	Highway Priority Construction Committee; reports; review by
9	legislature; restrictions on legislature
10	A.	*          *          *
11	(6) When this final construction program is communicated to the legislature
12 for funding for the coming fiscal year, any project which the legislature determines
13 is not in the proper order of priority in accordance with the factors stated in R.S.
14 48:229 48:229.1 may be deleted by the legislature. However, the legislature shall not
15 add any projects to this final construction program, nor shall the legislature make
16 substitutions for projects which have been removed.

1 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5 effective on the day following such approval.
