DIGEST
SB 27 Original	2020 Regular Session	Hewitt
Present law provides for the board of the Harbor Center District to levy a tax based upon the
occupancy of hotel rooms, motel rooms, and overnight camping facilities within the district, with
the approval of the State Bond Commission, in order to provide funds for the operation of the
district, including the construction, acquisition, development, maintenance, repair, reconstruction,
refurbishment, renovation, operation of or administration of any facility owned, or to be owned or
operated by the district and the acquisition, construction repair or replacement of machinery,
equipment, and furnishings. The tax shall not exceed two dollars per occupant day.
Proposed law retains present law but removes the requirement that the State Bond Commission must
approve the levying of the tax.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
