Present law provides for the Environmental Education and Reduction Act and creates the Louisiana
Environmental Education Commission and specifies the membership of the commission.
Additionally provides for the environmental education and litter reduction section within the state
Department of Education (DOE) and provides for the powers, duties, and programming of the
section.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the executive director of the Louisiana Coastal Protection
and Restoration Authority, or his designee, to the membership of the commission. Additionally
clarifies provisions relative to the activities of the section. 
Directs the La. State Law Institute to recodify specific sections of present law.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
