Present law requires the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to identify a transition specialist at
each of the state correctional facilities who shall perform certain duties which include furnishing a
photo identification card to an offender prior to his release.
Proposed law retains present law and requires the identification card to include a list of all licensing
and certification programs completed by the offender while incarcerated.
Effective August 1, 2020.
